Three urgent priorities are driving our Sensing the Future Campaign:
Monell will unite sensory and nutrition experts—a unique and timely marriage of two disciplines—to improve diet and nutritional health and give us new ammunition to fight obesity, diabetes, cancer, and heart disease.
Anosmia, the total loss of smell, affects roughly 2.5 million Americans and millions more worldwide. Many more experience a partial loss of this vital sense, particularly as they age. With the tools and knowledge available today, it becomes possible to find cures that will bring hope to those struggling with this invisible yet devastating disability.
Great science requires both talented researchers and powerful research tools. We will invest in new analytical and imaging equipment and expert scientific support to insure the next 50 years of cutting-edge discoveries.
We are delighted to share that at the close of the 2019-2020 year, we are 84 percent of the way to our fundraising goal. Because of this strong support in the early stages of the campaign, we are well on our way to reaching our goals.
